Our Background & Philosophy

Krav Maga Collingwood was born out of a simple idea: bring high quality and accessible Krav Maga training to the entire community. Our dedication and modern approach to learning and instruction ensures that you get the most out of your training. We take the time to ensure that you understand the context of why not just how and improve critical thinking and performance under stress.

Krav Maga Global (KMG)

​

Krav Maga Collingwood is a Krav Maga Global (KMG) school of Krav Maga. KMG’s Krav Maga is an integrated system of self-defence, fighting, and protecting others (VIP and third-party protection). It is the leading system of its kind in the world, known for its practical and realistic techniques and tactics for avoiding, preventing, deterring, or otherwise handling all types of violent confrontations.

KMG’s system is continuing to be developed by Imi’s closest assistant, Master Eyal Yanilov, adapting it to meet the changing needs of civilians of all ages, military units, law enforcement officers, and security personnel. It is an evolving system, which provides novel solutions for dynamic situations.

Our Instructors

​

Our instructors are all KMG certified with over 180 hours of training and testing from the KMG Global Instructor Team to qualify. In addition, to remain a KMG instructor, attendance to regular updates is required to ensure that training and instruction is kept current and remains at a high standard.

Further professional development is also a part of being a KMG instructor with our instructors having completed further qualifications in:

• Combat and Fighting

• Ground Fighting 

• ​Combat Mindset 

• Public Transport 

• Women's Self-Defence 

All our instructors also hold current first aid and Victorian working with children check.
